What to wear...

oh! i know! whatever we want to!

well, not everything we want to.

i can think of numerous times when i couldn't wear or buy somthing because my mom didn't like it. it wasn't because it was not modest or whatever, but because she didn't like it. she just thinks its ugly or doesn't like the style. but even if it covers every inch of me, if she thinks its ugly, then i can't get it.

i think some of her clothes/styles are ugly! but i don't get to tell her not to wear it.
i get the fact that she wants me to be modest and stuff... but if i think somthing is cool or pretty... its my body.

When I was your age...

That is my parent's favorite line.

and, let me tell you, it's very, very annoying. 

I think the only reason that parents say that is so us teens can 'realize how good we have it'.

but that is NOTTT what we think whenever you say it. 

"when i was your age, we didn't even have TV!" 

" if i spoke to my parents like that when i was your age, i would have been grounded for 6 months!"

"guess how many times we went out to lunch when i was your age!"

i know that you wierdo parents think we learn something, but we don't!

we don't care that you didn't have iPhones or Facebook or any of the cool things we have now. we know that already. trust me.

maybe instead of when i was your age line, say somthing like, consider yourself  that you have... 

but please, cut it with the when i was your age line.

My First Blog Post!

Hey, bloggers!

My name is Emily, a 14 year-old who has parents, just like every other teen in the world.And just like every other teen, I know that my parents can be embarassing at times, and I have to learn to live with that. (please don't tell my mom I said that!)
On this blog, I will talk about what teens like, what or why we do somthing, and alot more!
